| Dwina Murphy-Gibb Dwina Murphy-Gibb was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. She was educated in Northern Ireland and attended Hornsey Art College in England. Throughout her childhood, Dwina won art competitions every year. Her first exhibition was held at fourteen years old. She started writing stories at nine years old, performing poetry, later writing and directing dialogues and stage-plays for schools, and painting sceneries and backdrops for plays and ballet performances. Her art has been exhibited at the Jonathan Poole Gallery in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. She illustrated Sappho of Lesbos: The Poems, translated by Terence DuQuesne (1990). She has a lifelong interest in Irish history and mythology, colloquial dialogues and social politics. Dwina was co-founder of The Yeats Club which organized poetry competitions and published Celtic Dawn, the international literary magazine. |
| She is Patroness of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids and supports earth conservation and clean water action. She has a deep interest in various religions and in esoteric studies. Dwina is currently studying meditation and Raja Yoga with the Brahma Kumaris. She has published two volumes of poetry: Ergot On The Rye (1988) and Butterflies and Drums (1989) (under the pen name of Bridie Morrigan) and her third collection, Love Unbound, is now available on CD and appeared in book form in 2003. Dwina is the author of the novels Cormac, The Seers, and Cormac, The KingMaking, books one and two of a trilogy about Cormac mac Airt, a second century High King in Ireland. Her short stories have been included in a collection of Irish folk stories by contemporary writers. Dwina has written and performed her poetry and the dialogues of The Gabby Aggies for Irish festivals in the USA, for Manx Radio, and for radio in Ireland, the UK, Australia, and for private literary events. |

She has always been interested in peaceful changes for the better. The Murphy family remains in Ireland and Dwina resides in Florida and Oxfordshire with her husband, Robin Gibb of Bee Gees fame, and her son Robin-John Gibb. She is the owner of a Great Dane named Rocky and two Irish wolfhounds, Paddy and Mistletoe and three tortoises. A family of iguanas has taken up residence at her home in Florida. She is happy to have beaten Sligo in ladies’ football, and to have been runner-up to Miss Kilskeery way back when. |
